Ekopak company is taking a step towards joining the pan-European organization “Pro Europe” and obtaining a license for the right to use the Green Dot sign for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Today, Ekopak’s premises were visited by Ursula Denison , director of the organization “Pro Europe” , the umbrella organization of European recycling and packaging and packaging waste management systems based in Brussels.
The Ekopak company has prepared an application for a license to use the Green Dot sign and is on its way to becoming an authorized company in BiH to label products with this license. With its membership, Ekopak will also enable its clients to use the Green Dot sign on their products. The Green Dot sign on each piece of packaging means that the packaging is included in the system through an authorized operator, i.e. that a fee has been paid for its collection and recycling. This is also important information for consumers when they buy products in packaging.
During the visit, the company’s activities to date and plans to be implemented in the future were presented, and the importance that Ekopak, its clients, and the wider public will have from joining the association was stated.
Ekopak Director Amela Hrbat stated: “Ekopak has met the strict membership criteria prescribed by Pro Europe, we have sent an application to Brussels, and Ms. Denison today had the opportunity to learn more about Ekopak’s operations and plans so far. It is truly gratifying that in the general climate currently prevailing in our country and the conditions in which the BiH economy operates, a pan-European organization recognizes the activities that Ekopak carries out and qualifies them as being in line with European principles and values, and that Ekopak will soon become the 32nd member, i.e. that Bosnia and Herzegovina will become the 32nd country in this large system.
Pro Europe Director Ursula Denison did not hide her pleasure that BiH will be part of this organization. “We had a very constructive meeting today at Ekopak. I am impressed by the progress that has been made in a very short time and under very challenging conditions. I look forward to strengthening our cooperation in the future and welcoming Ekopak to the Green Dot system soon.”
Advisor Josip Dolušić joined part of the meeting on behalf of Federal Minister Branka Đurić, who expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with Ms. Denison and the fact that Ekopak will soon join the Green Dot system, and that the ministry will support the implementation of the Regulation and the establishment of a system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste.
