On May 14, Ekopak held an official award ceremony for the Green Dot certificate at the Hotel Hercegovina in Ilidža. The certificates were presented to the directors and representatives of the following companies: Akova, Atlantic Grupa, dm, Dukat, Coca Cola, Fabrika duhana Sarajevo, Heidelberg Cementara Kakanj, Henkel, JUB, MakroVita, Orbico, Stock, Holdina and other companies that, by signing a contract with Ekopak, acquired the right to use the Green Dot symbol on the packaging of their products.
By awarding the certificate, Ekopak would like to express its satisfaction and gratitude to the companies that have recognized Ekopak as their system operator and have shown it the trust to fulfill the recycling obligations arising from the Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management in the Federation of BiH on their behalf.
Representatives of Ekopak have previously visited the headquarters of Ledo, Ataco, Agrokor and Bossin to personally present them with the Green Dot certificate.
The Green Dot certificate is an indicator of the social responsibility of companies that care about environmental protection and packaging waste generated after the use of their products, and through Ekopak, financially contribute to the establishment and development of an efficient, transparent, sustainable and long-term system of packaging waste collection and recycling in BiH.
In the coming period, this certificate will be awarded to all companies (manufacturers, importers and end suppliers) that are included in the Ekopak system and that place products marked with the Green Dot symbol on the market, thus enabling all consumers to make their contribution to environmental protection by purchasing products with this symbol.
The Green Dot is an internationally protected mark of Pro Europe, the umbrella organisation of European operators of packaging and packaging waste management systems. The Green Dot mark is the most widely used and widely used mark in the world, protected in more than 170 countries. Around 460 billion packaging units are marked with the Green Dot every year, and more than 170,000 companies mark their product packaging with this mark. 300 million citizens in the EU have access to separate collection of packaging waste, which is financed by PRO EUROPE member operators.
