Ekopak conducted a campaign to educate consumers about the meaning and importance of the Green Dot, an internationally protected symbol that can be seen on the packaging of numerous products in BiH. As part of the campaign, Ekopak organized promotions in shopping malls in Banja Luka, Bihać, Tuzla, Zenica, Sarajevo and Mostar.
Great interest was recorded from consumers, who, by purchasing products with the Green Dot, participated in a prize draw for eco-checkers, and an interactive corner for playing, drawing, and taking photos was prepared for the youngest.
The Green Dot is an internationally protected symbol used to identify product packaging. It is used by socially responsible companies that pay packaging fees through the authorized operator of the Ekopak system, thereby financing the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste in our country.
The symbol is very popular worldwide because it sends a message to consumers that by purchasing products marked with the Green Dot, they are directly participating in the recycling of packaging waste and environmental protection.
This is a message to packaging companies to put the mark on their packaging and in this way bring their products closer to customers. The Green Dot is protected in more than 170 countries and more than 170,000 companies worldwide use this mark, which marks over 460 billion units of packaging waste annually.
By purchasing products bearing this symbol, consumers, as individuals, contribute to environmental protection. Around 300 million citizens have access to separate packaging waste disposal, which is financed by PRO EUROPE members, i.e. system operators such as Ekopak.
