After delivering 15 containers in the first phase of the project implementation, Ekopak organized an educational project – the play “Recycling is not a hassle” in primary schools in Kiseljak, today 36 containers were handed over for the establishment of additional eco-islands.
The municipality of Kiseljak now has 17 eco-islands, i.e. locations with three containers each, where citizens can separately dispose of packaging waste by type of material. JP “Water Supply and Sewerage” Kiseljak regularly services the containers and prepares the collected packaging waste for transport for recycling. Ekopak calls on all socially responsible companies to transfer their legal obligations for packaging waste recycling to Ekopak, in accordance with the Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. 88/11 and Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. 28/13), and enable the development of the Green Dot System in other municipalities in the Federation.
