An individual’s responsibility towards the environment is primarily expressed through care for the packaging of the products we buy every day. That is why it is important to check before purchasing whether the product is marked with the Green Dot symbol.

At the Green Dot promotions organized throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, citizens had the opportunity to learn what the Green Dot is and why buyers should pay attention to whether this symbol is on product packaging. The organizer of the promotions is the exclusive grantor of the rights to use this international symbol in our country – Ekopak.

Thus, Ekopak in Konzum stores in Mostar, Čitluk, Zenica, Banja Luka and Sarajevo, facilitated a series of promotions where customers could be educated about the importance and meaning of this symbol, which communicates the social responsibility of companies that use it in the segment of packaging waste recycling and environmental protection in general.
Gifts were also organized for customers by companies that mark their product packaging with the Green Dot: Orbico, Molson Coors, Mepas and Bernina.

“Since 2013, Ekopak has been a member of the prestigious umbrella organization PRO Europe, which is headquartered in Brussels. Pro Europe is the owner of the Green Dot, which is the most used internationally protected mark in the world and which is protected in more than 170 countries. As a member of Pro Europe, Ekopak had the honor of being the exclusive provider of the right to use the Green Dot of our country. One of our obligations is to inform and educate the public about the importance of this mark for all consumers,” said the director of Ekopak Amela Hrbat added that customers’ reactions are always very positive and that the public is increasingly interested in the recycling process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
